Wendy is a corporate planner for AgFirst Farm Credit Bank, her employer for over 25 years. She has held various positions during her tenure with AgFirst and has planned meetings and events full-time for the past seven years. She heads a department of three and was responsible for the planning and execution of over 40 meetings and events during 2005.
A native of Columbia, South Carolina, she makes her home in the town of Blythewood, an area 20 miles northeast of Columbia. She lives with her husband, Garry; their children, Lauren and Greg; and their pets Spanky, a boston terrier, and Elwood, a solid black cat.
A lifelong learner, Wendy holds an Associates Degree from Midlands Technical College, and in 2002 earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Columbia College. She says “The seven year investment of time in pursuing my Bachelors degree was worth every minute. We should never stop learning.” Also in 2002, Wendy earned the designation of CMP, which was one of her proudest moments.
After one year of membership with MPI-CC, Wendy joined the education committee. For the next three years, she worked to improve the quality of education of the Nuts & Bolts program. She held the position of co-chair of the Education Committee for two years and currently holds the board position of VP of Education.
While she has no one specific hobby, Wendy enjoys traveling, gardening, reading, baking and shopping for shoes!! |  |
