Malinda joined the Greater Raleigh Convention Bureau in 2006. Her career in the Hospitality Industry began 18 years ago beginning in operations, front office and reservation areas, and then moving to the sales department for the majority of her career.
Before joining the MPI Board of Directors , Pettaway served on the Hospitality , Awards and Scholarship committees. In 2009 She received the Tomorrows Leader Award.
Malinda is also currently on the Board of the Association Executives of NC. Prior to that, she served two years as the Allied/Silent Auction Committee chair, 4 years of active involvement on the Membership Committee for AENC, and was the 2008 recipient of the Patsy B. Smith (supplier of the year) Award.
A proud single mother of two and a grandmother (Prefers to be called Mi Mi), Born the baby of six brothers and sisters and raised in the small town of Tarboro, North Carolina, she moved to Raleigh – “The Big City” in 1991 to start a new chapter in her life. Malinda enjoys spending her free time reading, traveling and spending time with friends and family. She looks at each day of life as an adventure ..... And remembers to take time out to smell the flowers along the way. |  |
