Michele Decker has been in the entertainment business long enough to remember when “grunge” was new. She began her career booking concerts on college campuses with EastCoast Entertainment and learned the fine art of dealing with famous name artists - quirky rider requirements and all. After a lot of years booking acts ranging from The Allman Brothers to the Wu Tang Clan to Tony Bennett, she decided to check out another career path and became an event planner with Tribble Creative Group in Charlotte, NC. The experience of working with Mary Tribble and her wonderful team was thrilling and enlightening. In 2005, Michele couldn’t resist the pull of the mountains any longer and returned to her “roots” in Ashe County, NC where she grew up. She began working with Daniel Entertainment Group as an agent and also started doing some free lance event and meeting management. In 2009, Daniel Entertainment Group merged with EastCoast Entertainment and Michele was once again happily affiliated with the very same folks she started her career with way back when. She currently maintains a home office in Ashe County where she works with clients to help them book the perfect entertainment – both big name acts and small local artists. Michele also continues to act as an independent planner and enjoys working with her fellow MPI-CC members to help them organize their events and meetings.
Outside of work, Michele is an avid gardener and can be found on summer weekends with a big funny hat on attacking weeds in her organic vegetable garden. Her husband Jamie really likes organic vegetables so he doesn’t mind the big hat, but her 13 year old daughter Meredith gets slightly embarrassed and rolls her eyes sometimes. She hopes to add a milk cow and a perhaps few chickens to the family one of these days. |  |
