Ginny Fountain, CMP, is the Director of Meeting Planning at the North Carolina Association of Electric Cooperatives (NCAEC) and has been employed since 2000. Currently, she is responsible for location suggestion/sourcing/selection, facility and vendor contract negotiations, audiovisual specifications, and logistics planning of the company’s more than 35 off-site meetings and events per year. Ginny is the on-site management representative for a majority of those meetings, which include conferences, seminars, workshops, golf tournaments, board retreats and board meetings. NCAEC provides support for all 26 electric cooperatives in the state and these Touchstone Energy partners serve over 2.5 million people in 93 of the state’s 100 counties. The electric cooperatives own and maintain 95,000 miles of power lines.
Since joining Meeting Professional International Carolinas Chapter (MPI-CC) in 2000, Ginny has served on numerous committees and helped with fund raising events. She has held board positions including Vice President of Membership, President-Elect, and is currently serving her second term as President for the chapter. She received the Tomorrow’s Leader Award in 2003 and Planner of the Year Award in 2005. Ginny earned the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in 2004, has facilitated local area CMP study group sessions, and has contributed to industry publications.
Additionally, Ginny has been a member of Association Executives of NC (AENC) for over ten years, has served two years on the board of directors, and recently received the Distinguished Service Award.
Ginny enjoys playing tennis, golf, and traveling. She and her husband, Myron, visit a beach as often as possible and enjoy walking, swimming, bicycling, and kayaking. |  |
