Marketing and Public RelationsDirector of Marketing and Public RelationsVicki Hiatt Chair - Marketing & Public RelationsHollace Dowdy Committee responsibilities and goals:The Marketing & Public Relations Committee has several responsibilities within MPI-Carolinas Chapter. One primary responsibility is to maintain and update the chapter website with new and important information for chapter members and potential new members. The website is the main information and communication source for MPI-CC members. Therefore, this committee will be in constant contact with other committees as well as the management office to bring the latest information to the site. In addition to the website, this committee is striving to promote MPI-CC's achievements, both individual and chapter wide, and bi-monthly meetings to the outside hospitality industry. Committee members have established a comprehensive media list, which includes North Carolina, South Carolina and national contacts. Our committee wants MPI-CC to receive as much publicity as possible, capitalizing on any activities that might benefit the communities in which we meet. Finally, our committee will be reaching out to new market areas, such as colleges and universities to create interest in MPI-CC. This will help develop more student members, who we hope will retain their membership when they graduate. It will also increase the awareness of the organization among the academic institutions in North and South Carolina leading to opportunities to partner with them on research opportunities. |
