COMMUNITY OUTREACH VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Greetings MPI-CC Members

The Community Outreach Committee was delighted at the great work we did this past year in raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We did this thru our Cooking for the Cure Cookbook CD’s, paper balloon sales and the Light The Night Walk’s in Raleigh and Charlotte.

Our chapter will be supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society again this year with our fundraising efforts. This group’s mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma as well as to improve the quality of life for their patients and families who are battling these blood cancers. The Leukemia and Lymphoma has chapters in North and South Carolina.

Our relationship with LLS has many sides. We want to raise awareness, raise money for a great cause and offer our MPI-CC members the opportunity to volunteer in their local communities. What a great way to get involved. During September and October, LLS offers their “Light The Night Walk”. It is the LLS nationwide evening walk to build awareness of blood cancers and raise money for cures. Walkers carry illuminated balloons during the walk. White balloons for survivors and red balloons for supporters to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer.

Join the all important fight for a cure to these blood diseases. Lets all get involved this year with this wonderful cause!!
