Community Outreach Volunteer Opportunities

Greetings Fellow MPI-CC Members:

The Community Outreach Committee was thrilled at the response to our Kick Off at the recent Charlotte Chapter Meeting.

I want to start off by thanking all the members who have volunteered to be a part of this committee as well as the volunteers who have signed up to be a Team Captain for our annual Light The Night Walks benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Last year we had 2 teams that participated in the walk and this year we will have 8 teams across North and South Carolina walking to help save lives. Check our website to see who your team captain is in your area and get involved with your local walk or LLS office.

In addition to our LTN efforts, we are also offering a limited number of music cd's to purchase benefiting LLS as well. This cd is called "Dreams, Stars & Rainbows". It was inspired by Emma "Grace" Brashear who passed away at the age of 18 months with a rare form of Leukemia. Her family has produced this cd in her memory. It is mostly piano music with Emma's uncle singing nursery rhymes and other popular songs. The cost of the CD is $12.00 with 100% of the proceeds going to LLS. With the efforts of all of us in MPI-CC across North and South Carolina we can do great things this year for our communities thru out the Carolinas.
