Pre-ResidencyBefore you arrive, you are given pre-residency assignments to complete:
You will be placed in an "ideal" case study team and your team will "meet" through technology with specific pre-residency tasks. The group will continue to work together during the residency. ResidencyThe four-1/2 day residential full-immersion course begins with an opening session on acting strategically followed by a reception. Curriculum for the week includes sessions covering:
Along with attending these sessions, attendees will also participate in a continuation of the same small group to which they were assigned in the pre-residency. Each small group is assigned an aspect of organizing a corporate meeting. They then apply what they learned during the residency to their own part of the planning. At the end of the residency each group presents their aspect of the meeting. ExaminationThe CMM exam is an open-book and open-notes exam. The exam is composed of essay questions and asks you to apply what you have learned to your own organization/situation. You may either take the exam on the last day, or you can submit it through email to MPI one week after the program. If you take the exam onsite, you need to bring your own laptop computer with CD or floppy disk drive. Post-residency Business ProjectThe final aspect of attaining your CMM is completing a business project. The business project is due to MPI six weeks following the residency. The project requires you to take what you learned during the program and produce a strategic business plan. The business plan can be for either a new business venture that you would like to pursue or a restructuring of your current situation. You are given a set of guidelines to follow in developing your business project, and it is anonymously evaluated by two experienced, senior, industry experts to determine your success. You are given detailed information about how to improve the plan. The business projects and the scores are confidential. CMM Application InformationYou must first quality for the program by completing the online application form. On the application form, you need to document your professional education background, meeting management and business experience, language skills and professional contributions, as well as submit 2 references. The application is designed to score itself electronically. However, MPI staff will also do a thorough evaluation as well. Should any questions or concerns arise in the evaluation process, MPI will contact you. The non-refundable application fee is:
Acceptance in the ProgramUpon successful acceptance into the program, you will receive notification and a registration form for the next scheduled CMM program (if dates for the next program have been finalized). However, approved candidates may attend any of the scheduled programs worldwide. Your acceptance is valid for 2 years - after which you must reapply and submit a non-refundable application fee.
